South Carolina standout Tariq Edwards verbally committed to Virginia Tech on Friday, paving the way for one of the state’s top recruits to play at his father’s alma mater. And his twin brother Tyrell is not far behind. The twins’ father, Bo Campbell, played for the Hokies from 1988-1991. Though the brothers will graduate in spring 2009 and would be eligible for the 2009 season, because of a limited number of available scholarships, the Hokies plan to “grayshirt” the brothers.
