Frank Beamer injured after fall, may face surgery

It’s not often you hear about a head football coach getting put on the injury report, but that’s where Virginia Tech’s Frank Beamer finds himself after taking a fall getting off a plane last week during the Orange & Maroon Tour. It appears Beamer may have ruptured his right biceps according BeamerBall.com.

“I came down hard on my right side and I kinda felt something rip in there,” says Beamer. “When I saw all the purple and black in my arm, I figured I probably had a tear somewhere.”

Beamer said on his website that he was getting off the plane and the bag over his shoulder snagged on something and he ended up on the pavement. He will have an MRI in the days ahead and if he needs surgery, he’ll have it later in the summer after spending some time with his family, particularly his grandchildren.
