Lauren Luttrell may not have made Virginia Tech’s football team as the program’s first ever female player, but she did make an impression.
The freshman from Spotsylvania, Va., advanced to the second round after making all four of her first-round kicks, beating out three of her male competitors. She missed her first kick of the second round from the left hash mark, but made her remaining three.
Despite making seven of eight attempts through two rounds, Head Coach Frank Beamer did not call her practice jersey number (#10) for the third and final round. But for the lifelong Hokie fan, it was still a very good day.
Kick ass.
ohmigosh, I didn’t even hear about this.
Good for her! I could never play football. She is amazing.
Aw good for her!
How cool would that be? There’s always next year Lauren! #GoHokies!
