Hokies spring game to be broadcast by ESPN3

Virginia Tech’s April 21 spring football game will be broadcast on ESPN3.com. It will be an Internet-only production.

The game kicks off at 4 p.m. at Lane Stadium and admission is free. The Hokies begin spring practice on March 28.

So the interesting thing about this photo isn’t so much the free t-shirts that students will receive at tonight’s Virginia Tech v. Virginia game — though that is awesome — but rather commenter Austin, who wants the Hokie Nation to know that “duck rules.”

While we assume he means Duke, he is fortunate that tonight’s event is a basketball game and not a spelling contest. One can only imagine how bad he’d mangle the Tech Victory March.

Virginia Tech’s Dorenzo Hudson buries a three-pointer at the buzzer to give the Hokies a 74-73 win over Georgia Tech. Yes, GT is the last-placed team in the ACC, but who cares? Last spring I decided to go to Lane to have a look around. Someone left a gate open so I just went inside. Towards the end, while I was creepin by the tunnel, some kickers came out to practice so I had to run away.

The 2nd to last picture is of Burruss during a memorial service (April 16th maybe? My memory does not serve me), and the last is Lane during a night game this past fall.

Hindsight being 20/20, we could have made up some great excuses for why we were there! For example:

“I’m from search and rescue… we’re looking for UVA football players, who apparently got lost looking for the endzone.”

What excuse would you give for being caught inside Lane Stadium when you shouldn’t be there?
