Do you eat at Wendy’s? How about Subway? Every get groceries from Food Lion? If you answered yes to any of those questions and you live in the New River Valley, this Cub Scout Discount Card is for you!

For just $5, you get buy-one-get-one-free offers from Wendy’s and Subway; a $5 off coupon on a purchase of $75 or more at Food Lion; and other reusable discounts at local restaurants and shops.

Just one of the tab coupons pays for the card, so it’s a no-brainer! Every penny of the profit goes directly to the scout selling the card to help them pay for scouting trips, campouts, and other official scouting activities.

If you’d like a card, please send an email to gary@vthokiefans.com.

As all Hokies know, our motto is Ut Prosim (That I May Serve). Beginning tomorrow, Jan. 15 through March 12, volunteers are needed to help with the Special Olympics Unified Sports program.

Below is some more information about the program. To register as a volunteer, click here

We are pleased to be offering our very popular Unified Sports Leagues again this season. Unified Sports is an exciting inclusive program that brings together athletes with and without intellectual disabilities in a setting where all are challenged to improve their skills.

Participants develop friendships and an understanding of each others capabilities through a spirit of equality and team unity. All ability levels are welcome! All leagues need players and officials.

Highlighting this season is the Highlander Polar Plunge Saturday, March 2, and the SW Regional Basketball Tournament Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013.

We need volunteers! Please consider donating your time for a very worthwhile cause.

If you have any questions, you are welcome to call our office at (540) 951-2918 or email swoffice@specialolympicsva.org.
