Virginia Tech great and NCAA champion Queen Harrison. While at Tech she won three national titles (the first ever for the Virginia Tech women’s team) and competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics. She also became the first woman in NCAA history to win the 100m and 400m hurdles at the NCAA Outdoor championships.

Click through to the original blog post and give it a read. At first glance, my reaction was that this was another example of social media oversharing and TMI. But, after reading all the way through, I think what David did was admirable.
While HIV isn’t the threat it was 20-30 years ago, it is still a very real threat. As are other STDs. But no one wants to talk about it because of the stigma that is attached. But getting tested is important for anyone who has been sexually active and for a professional athlete to publicly announce that they’ve been tested and to encourage others to do the same is a huge step forward. Hopefully more athletes will follow suit.

Virginia Tech’s men’s basketball team picked up a big commitment from UNC Wilmington transfer guard Adam Smith on Wednesday, according to multiple media outlets.
Smith, a Jonesboro, Ga., native, started 29 games for the Seahawks as a freshman last year and averaged 13.7 points, 3.2 rebounds…
