Virginia Tech employee Ben Norris to compete in 2013 Special Olympic World Games in South Korea. Spread the word and wear red, white and blue on Feb. 1 and Feb. 5 (the days of his events) to show your support!

As all Hokies know, our motto is Ut Prosim (That I May Serve). Beginning tomorrow, Jan. 15 through March 12, volunteers are needed to help with the Special Olympics Unified Sports program.

Below is some more information about the program. To register as a volunteer, click here.

We are pleased to be offering our very popular Unified Sports Leagues again this season. Unified Sports is an exciting inclusive program that brings together athletes with and without intellectual disabilities in a setting where all are challenged to improve their skills.

Participants develop friendships and an understanding of each others capabilities through a spirit of equality and team unity. All ability levels are welcome! All leagues need players and officials.

Highlighting this season is the Highlander Polar Plunge Saturday, March 2, and the SW Regional Basketball Tournament Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013.

We need volunteers! Please consider donating your time for a very worthwhile cause.

If you have any questions, you are welcome to call our office at (540) 951-2918 or email swoffice@specialolympicsva.org.
